This is a brand new workshop from UNISON and The Open University. This 3.5 hour session will be delivered online.
The workshop is suitable for those working in the care sector, both in the community, in a residential home or within a hospital or rehabilitation centre, or those with caring responsibilities for elderly friends and relatives.
The workshop will cover the following learning aims:
- Good communication – ways of communicating, improving your listening and interpersonal skills.
- Palliative and end-of-life care – how this care is provided and what is meant by a good death.
- Positive risk-taking – why it is important to balance safe care with positive risk-taking to promote a more fulfilling life for the cared-for person.
At the end of the training you will be provided with a certificate of attendance and completion of the workshop from The Open University.
