30 April 2025 4:00pm–6:30pm
This online workshop is open to any UNISON member but it is particularly aimed at those who work with children and young people. The session provides a greater awareness of the impact of bereavement on children, young people and their families. It looks at the understanding of death at different stages of development and how children and young people respond to grief. The training gives you the tools and confidence to support children and young people who are dealing with bereavement.
The workshop is delivered by Cruse Bereavement Support on behalf of UNISON College. It will help participants to:
- Develop a greater understanding of how grief is experienced by children and young people.
- Explore different models which help explain how children and young people react to grief and loss.
- Be able to identify common grief responses at different ages and stages of development.
- Be able to assess a child’s or young person’s needs and provide effective support.
