The session provides a greater awareness of the impact of bereavement on children, young people and their families. It looks at the understanding of death at different stages of development and how children and young people respond to grief. The training gives you the tools and confidence to support children and young people who are dealing with bereavement.

  • Develop a greater understanding of how grief is experienced by children & young people.
  • Explore different models which help explain how children and young people react to grief and loss.
  • Be able to identify common grief responses at different ages and stages of development.
  • Be able to assess a child or young persons needs and provide effective support.
