This online workshop is aimed at people working in a caring capacity as either social carers or in other clinical settings but may also be of use to those caring for someone with dementia in a personal capacity.

The workshop takes place over Zoom on Thursday 15th May from 9.30am to 12.30pm and aims to help you understand:

  • what is meant by the term dementia
  • causes and types of dementia
  • how having dementia affects the way a person behaves and functions
  • that there is more to a person than the dementia
  • that it is possible to live well with dementia.

Participants should expect to participate in this session with discussion and activities and if possible should have their camera turned on and interact with the tutor and other attendees via their mic and group chat.
