Event Overview

This Three Module Course is designed to give branch activists the opportunity to:

  • Give Environmental Officers/Green Reps initial training
  • Plan a strategy for your branch to engage around environmental issues on a workplace and wider level

Facilitator

The workshop will be delivered by Jonathan Tennison LAOS Education Officer

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand UNISON policy on this area and the role of the EnVO/Green Rep
  • Understand the sectoral impacts of climate change
  • Develop a strategy to approach the employer on these issues
  • Build alliances with external organisations

Participation expectations

Attendees should expect to participate in group discussions and share information and ideas

Session Details

The session will be held online on Tuesday 14th, Tuesday 21st, and Tuesday 28th April 2025 from 9.30am to 1pm.
Spaces will be allocated after the closing date of 10th March according to the principles of fair representation and proportionality. This course includes a charge to your branch of £30; if you meet the course criteria we will contact your branch to confirm their approval to be charged the course fee.

  • There is a charge to the branch of £50 for this course. If you meet the minimum requirements to attend this course we will contact your branch so that your attendance can be authorised.
  • We will use this information to check your UNISON membership, to seek approval from your branch for your attendance on this course, and to send you course information. If we are able to offer you a place on this training, then you will receive an email from us with further information.
