Our Organising for Health and Safety course is essential for new health and safety representatives and we are now offering a summer course whereby reps can complete the course in one week.

Our online course is delivered by experienced TUC tutors at West Thames College, using Microsoft Teams.

You will learn about health and safety legislation, including the law relating to risk assessment, and your employer’s responsibilities. It will help you work with members to tackle workplace issues and develop your confidence to represent them effectively.

The course runs every day from 16 to 20 August, with each day’s session beginning at 10am and finishing at 2.40pm. You will work collaboratively with other H&S reps. The course equates to a total of 30 learning hours through a combination of online webinar tutorials, research and assessed feedback, it is accredited by the National Open College Network and is worth 6 credits.

  • We will use this information to check your UNISON membership and rep credentials. Please complete the information below as we need to ensure that you will be able to access the systems required to complete the course.
  • Please tick to indicate that you able to commit to taking part on every day of the course from 16-20 August.
  • You will receive an automated email confirming that your request has been submitted. If we are able to offer you a place on the course then you will receive a welcome letter, followed by a college enrolment form. The course is accredited by the National Open College Network and is worth 6 credits.
