We have transformed our classroom based course into an online course, delivered by experienced TUC tutors.

Our Organising for Health and Safety course is essential for new health and safety representatives. We have transformed our classroom based course into an online course, delivered by experienced TUC tutors.

You will learn about health and safety legislation, including the law relating to risk assessment, and also your employer’s responsibilities. It will help you work with members to tackle workplace issues and develop your confidence to represent them effectively.

The course runs from 2 November to 11 December and equates to a total of 30 learning hours, through a combination of the online tutorials, and 2-3 hours group based activities which can be completed anytime during that week. Your regional organiser will have explained the importance of being able to commit to taking part in all of the online tutorials, the dates of which are set out in the application form.   • We will use this information to check your UNISON membership and rep credentials. Please complete the information below as we need to ensure that you will be able to access the systems required to complete the course.
  • Please tick to indicate that you are able to commit to joining all the course webinars on the set dates as follows: Tutorial 1 - 11am-2pm, Monday 2nd November 2020; Tutorial 2 – 11am-1pm, Friday 13th November 2020; Tutorial 3 – 11am-1pm, Monday 16th November 2020; Tutorial 4 – 11am-1pm, Friday 27th November 2020; Tutorial 5 – 11am-1pm, Monday 30th November 2020; Tutorial 6 – 11am-2pm, Friday 11 December 2020
  • You will receive an automated email confirming that your request has been submitted. If we are able to offer you a place on the course then you will receive a welcome letter, followed by a college enrolment form. The course is accredited by the National Open College Network and is worth 6 credits.
