Join us for a fun and interactive Introduction to British Sign Language (BSL) webinar!
This engaging session is designed to help you begin developing your BSL vocabulary while gaining valuable insight into Deaf culture and the experiences of Deaf people in everyday life.
Through hands-on learning and guided practice, you’ll explore key signs, basic communication techniques, and the importance of inclusion and accessibility.
By the end of the webinar, you’ll be able to:
- Use basic BSL greetings and everyday phrases to engage in simple conversations.
- Understand and apply some basic BSL grammatical structures, including facial expressions and non-manual signals.
- Identify common barriers faced by Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals and discuss ways to promote inclusion and effective communication.
Attendees should expect to have their mics and camera switched off. However, there will be the opportunity to pose questions via the Q and A and interact with other attendees / react to the content being shared using the chat function.
This session will take place on Monday 16th March from 12.00pm to 1.00pm via MS Teams.
