If you have some existing knowledge of Excel functions and wish to enhance and refresh your skills, this course is for you.

Learn to organise table data, present data as charts and enhance the look and appeal of workbooks by adding graphic objects. Upon successful completion of this course, students will have the necessary skills to:

  • Organise worksheet and table data using various techniques
  • Create and modify charts
  • Manipulate more complex formulas and functions
  • Insert and modify graphic objects in a worksheet
  • Customise and enhance workbooks and the Microsoft Excel environment

Course Content:

  • Review of formulas and functions: Further formulas and functions: Working with dates and percentages: Functions and the formula palette: Absolute Cell Addressing: Displaying underlying formula
  • Printing and formatting: Custom formatting: Hiding columns and outlining
  • Worksheets and workbooks: Working with multiple worksheets: Creating a workspace
  • Working with lists: Filtering data: Sorting data: Analysing data using subtotals
  • Creating charts: Modifying charts: Printing charts: Further customisation
  • Other features: Sharing workbooks: Worksheet auditing: Adding comments
  • We finish by building our own spreadsheet, using the knowledge we have gained.

To get the best out of this online course the attendees should have access to a large screen device.

Places on the course are very limited and learners are expected to take part both days and join in hands-on activities. The course is funded by UNISON for members.

This course will be delivered on Teams and it will take place over two morning sessions:
Tuesday 15th July – 9:30am to 13:00pm
Wednesday 16th July – 9:30am to 13:00pm
