Our online steward course delivers the same learning outcomes as the face-to-face Stage 1 + Stage 2 workplace representatives course combination. It is hosted on the TUC web platform, from where you will be able to access the course resources as well as submit coursework and engage with other participants in closed forums.

Although your learning will be mainly self-guided the course is lead by experienced TUC tutors who will deliver three virtual live tutorial sessions using Microsoft Teams. These tutorials will provide structure and guidance to the course, they also create a supportive learning environment. The tutors are also on hand to provide additional support if required.

As with our other courses, you will be provided with a mentor from your region or branch, who will help answer any questions you have regarding the role of a UNISON steward.

New Stewards Online course Jul-Aug 21

  • We will use this information to check your UNISON membership and steward credentials. Please complete the information below as we need to ensure that you will be able to access the systems required to complete the course.
  • Please tick to indicate that you able to commit to joining three live course tutorials on set dates as follows:

    Week 1: Monday 5 July 10am to 12pm

    Week 3: Monday 19 July 10am to 12pm

    Week 4: Monday 26 July 10am to 12pm
  • You will receive an automated email confirming that your request has been submitted. If we are able to offer you a place on the course then you will receive a welcome letter, followed by a college enrolment form. The course is accredited by the National Open College Network and is worth 6 credits.
