Everyone has a poem waiting to be written. Everyone has a story to spin or a truth to tell. We all wrote poems when we were children but then most of us stopped. So if you’ve ever wanted to rediscover the poet in you then this enjoyable, practical and interactive workshop is for you.
The session will be run by Hydrocracker, a theatre company with a strong record of making work with a political and social intent. Their most recent work – Before The Flame Goes Out – was a response to Covid 19 and involved UNISON members. You can see the 6 minute film here.
During the workshop you will be helped to make a poem: chisel out the right words in the right order, find the lines of connection between images, ideas and feeling and encouraged to explore how to tell a story, to spin a yarn, to tell a joke and speak truth to power.
Whether, the last time you wrote a poem was at school or you write poems regularly and want to develop your work further then we want to meet you . Your poem is out there just waiting for you to find it.
There is a choice of two sessions – 10am-12pm or 2pm-4pm. Both will include a fifteen minute break. This workshop will be delivered over Zoom.
