Secondary and Vicarious Trauma in Social Care

Part of our series for UNISON members in social care, this webinar will focus upon the concept of secondary and vicarious trauma, how it can be distorted or misunderstood by the individual or the workplace and how to act upon it.

This webinar is open to UNISON members and will be suitable for anyone working in the social care industry that listens to trauma stories/ witness’s trauma from the individuals that they support.

In this session, participants will:

  • Gain an understanding of secondary and vicarious trauma
  • Recognise signs and symptoms of secondary and vicarious trauma
  • Develop a tool kit to take care of your health and wellbeing against secondary and vicarious trauma.
