This session will focus on how to set up a mentoring scheme in your branch. There will be a brief introduction to mentoring, along with some practice and then some action and planning around how to get started. This is a pilot so it might be subject to review and update throughout the year.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the Grow Model
  • Start to plan and establish a branch mentoring programme
  • An understanding of the steps to get started
  • Explore practical ideas to implement it at branch level

Attendees should expect to be introduced and understand an understanding of mentoring, the associated skills needed, with some practical guidance on applying a structured approach to mentoring using the grow model. This will include a reference some model policies and guides and templates to help you get started, using the resources on the padlet.

It will explore any potential barriers and seek to explore some solutions to help get a branch mentoring scheme established. Please note that there would be a requirement to participate in practice conversations. But there would be an option to observe only.

The session will be held on teams on Wednesday 18th March from 10am to 1pm.

Spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served, basis.
