Staying Safe Online November 2025

26 November 2025 10:30am–11:30am

This online workshop is for UNISON members who would like to learn about how to keep safe online, whether it is thinking about what to share, creating a strong password, or protecting themselves from scams. This course will:

• Introduce common threats to online safety
• Provide guidance to create strong passwords
• Discuss how the data you provide online is used
• Explore other ways of staying safe online

This session will take place on Wednesday 26th November from 10.30am to 11.30am via MS Teams. Attendees will have their mics and camera switched off. However, there will be the opportunity to pose questions via the Q and A and interact with other attendees / react to the content being shared using the chat function.

By the end of the workshop you will know how to:

  • Create and keep strong passwords
  • Keep yourself safe from scams
  • Consider the risks of sharing personal information online
  • Look at employers’ and providers’ IT policies
  • Think about how we might deal with unpleasant encounters online
  • Consider how we can ‘switch off’
