Magnifying the screen in Microsoft Teams

Title showing words 'UNISON College' and 'Digital Guide'.

Attendees in Teams meetings and webinars can magnify slides being shared from PowerPoint.

This feature is available for users joining via a desktop device, either through their web browser or the Microsoft Teams app.

There are two ways to magnify the screen depending on how the screen has been shared. Both are explained below:

PowerPoint when ‘Present in Teams’ has used by presenter

1. Left click on the three dots in the bottom left corner of the screen when the PowerPoint has been shared on screen.

2. You can use the option ‘Magnify slide only for me’ to increase the size of the slide displayed on screen.

3. Left click and drag the slide on screen to move across the slide shown.
4. In this mode, you will also be able to select the slides shown yourself by clicking on the left and right facing arrows as shown in the image above.

PowerPoint when presenter shares screen

Sometimes a presenter will choose to share their screen rather than run the PowerPoint using the ‘Present in Teams’ option outlined above.
If this happens, you will still be able to adjust the magnification of the screen using the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons shown below under the green arrow, which will appear in the bottom left of the screen when the presenter is sharing their screen. You can also left click and drag to move around the screen.
