Training for UNISON branch officers

Course participants

Courses are organised both regionally and nationally. Where possible, you should aim to attend a course in your region. This will give you the opportunity to meet other activists near you and learn about specific support and resources that are available in your region.

Learning and Organising Services are running a limited number of national courses.

Some members are elected by their branch to play different branch roles. Branches are required to elect to certain core roles, and may also create other posts according to their rules.

You can find out about some of the branch officer roles by visiting our e-learning site and playing the Activate! game. (Sign in with your My.UNISON account.) Or you can find out more on the main UNISON website.

Training is available for each of the branch officer roles. UNISON regions usually deliver these courses simultaneously at a branch officer training weekend which allows officers to network.

In addition to courses offered in the regions, UNISON Learning and Organising Services runs national courses for certain roles.
