Take the Numeracy Challenge this Checktember

We know that many of our members feel anxious about or lack confidence in numeracy and we want you to know that you are not alone.

Perhaps some of you are being asked to do more accounting/tracking or perhaps you have simply been avoiding numeracy-based tasks in the past by getting someone else to help or finding excuses not to complete them. Whatever the reason, there has never been a better time to take a deep breath and tackle this.

This is why UNISON have partnered up with National Numeracy once again to provide our members with an easy and straightforward way to improve their confidence and their skills in maths.

The National Numeracy Challenge is a free and easy-to-use website that you can use to improve your confidence with numbers. It’s ideal for brushing up, checking your current level, or for catching up on learning you missed and it’s all about the maths you need in daily life and at work – no algebra or trigonometry.

You’re not alone: hear UNISON national learning and development organiser Oreleo Du Cran explain how he became a ‘numbers person’

This September get on board with UNISON and National Numeracy and take part in Checktember. We promise that ten minutes a day using the friendly National Numeracy Challenge will really make a difference to your confidence and your numeracy skills.
