#GetOnlineWeek is here!

This week it’s Get Online Week and UNISON, along with other organisations across the UK, will be supporting people to get online and take part in the digital world.

It’s estimated that over 5 million working adults lack the full set of basic digital skills – so with the rise of digitisation and automation in the workplace, it puts in jeopardy the ability of some people to be able to get on at work.

At UNISON we want our members to not just grow their digital skills, but their digital confidence too. From applying for a promotion or a new job to booking a doctors appointment, we need digital skills for everything.

As ULR’s there’s loads of activities you can do to encourage your members to learn new digital skills. You could run Get Online Week bingo in your workplace and have a prize for the person who’s tried the most new things or sign up members to take a Wranx module on Online Security or Mental Health Awareness.

If you’re wanting to kick off more long term digital learning in the workplace why not print out our Essential Digital Skills Learning Survey to hand out in the workplace and deliver activities during the year to support the learning needs people have identified from that. Digital Unite have created over 400 technology guides covering a whole range of digital topics to help you support your learners.
